Regional development organisations

The Queensland Government jointly funds a network of regional development organisations.

Regional Economic Development Corporations

As part of the 2005-2006 State Budget, the Queensland Government committed ongoing funding over four years help to maintain momentum for regional development through supporting activities undertaken by the following Regional Economic Development Corporations:

  • Gladstone Area Promotion and Development Limited
  • Mackay Whitsunday Regional Economic Development Corporation
  • Rockhampton Regional Development Limited
  • Townsville Enterprise Limited
  • Advance Cairns

Remote Area Boards

As part of the 2005-2006 State Budget, the Queensland Government committed ongoing funding over four years to assist economic development in remote areas through funding delivery of key support services delivered by the following Remote Area Boards:

  • Cape York Peninsula Development Association Incorporated
  • Central Western Queensland Remote Area Planning and Development Board (RAPAD)  
  • Gulf Savannah Development Incorporated
  • Mount Isa to Townsville Economic Development Zone Incorporated
  • South West Regional Development Association Incorporated - (07) 4621 8000
