Traveston Dam information and assistance

For residents and businesses affected by the proposed Traveston Dam, assistance is available as follows:

Residents
Department of Communities has implemented a range of strategies to support residents affected by the Government's decision to build dams in the Traveston Crossing and Wyaralong regions. In addition, the Department works collaboratively with other government departments to identify and address issues of concern to affected residents.

Business and Industry
Further information and assistance for business and industry in relation to the Traveston Crossing Dam may be obtained by contacting the Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation on phone: 07 5437 1300.

Business Adjustment Package
Queensland Rural Adjustment Authority provides eligible businesses, which are significantly adversely affected by the announcement of the proposed dams, the ability to seek financial assistance for Business Advice, Business Restructure or Business Exit. Contact QRAA free call 1 800 623 946
 
Worker Assistance Program
The Worker Assistance Program helps people who have lost their jobs when their previous employer has closed or downsized causing regional retrenchments.

If you have lost your job as a result of the government's decision to build dams at Traveston Crossing or Wyaralong, you may be eligible for assistance from the State Government to find employment.

Contact the coordinator of the Worker Assistance Program on (07) 3225 2113 to see if you qualify for assistance.
